Father of Beauty
I forgot about sleep until the night fell.
Sleet too was just a memory
When flakes began to flurry in the light, and the rain hit.
I want to move more deeply into always
Life that surrounds the life I live.
My hands stretch through where on the other side is
Death, O, slowly rising star so bright
I’m forced to shield my eyes
And run to mother earth. Are you then father of all this beauty?
